From age 6 we went to the same schools, participated in the same extra curricular activities, and have traveled similar paths as we've lived. For that reason I can share this note echoing the same sentiments as if they were my own. Nicole is a published writer and you may not be familiar with her now, but you will. Driving around downtown last week I pulled out my camera while parked. Reason being; I noticed what appeared to be homeless kids chilling @ the pier. I gathered that they were homeless b/c they weren't wearing any shoes, and they looked like they were congregating to take their bath in the polluted Kingston Harbour. The kids, who appeared to be between the ages of 14-18, looked fairly happy. As I sat across the table from him, I stared and listened in awe as he (methodically) rambled on about the marvels of 2009. This began from a song blaring from a cell phone as it rang. He started; "Telephones, I remember when I first saw one".He began to tell me of his youthful days when the ChocLitLuvJoihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18018253627288823899noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8142308526142679588.post-86977506899776478032009-03-12T12:21:00.000-07:002009-03-12T13:21:46.084-07:00Equality = Eventual PeaceSo I'm really perturbed today. I woke up w/ the intent to write about self image and love, but was rerouted to the topic of love for others. I watched a clip of a prominent Jamaican who migrated to the US because she felt unsafe in the country of her birth. She is a lesbian who was raped by a dozen men who wanted "to show her what a real man feels like".
